The girls' football selection of Suriname won by a large margin against neighboring country Guyana on Friday during the 2023 Inter Guyanese Games. The Guyanese were defeated 8-0 in the George Streepey Stadium.
The Surinamese played a very attacking game and created numerous scoring opportunities. Guyana had little to complain about. At halftime, Suriname was already ahead 4-0.
The Guyanese played better in the second half, but they still had no chance. The Surinamese girls scored 4 more goals and the final score was set at 8-0.
Suriname and Guyana will compete against each other again today, because French Guiana does
The sporting event between school children up to the age of eighteen from Suriname, Guyana and French Guiana ends tomorrow. The sports are athletics, basketball, chess, tennis, football, volleyball and swimming.
